Ardith E. Causby

Ardith E. Causby, age 85, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness, on March 10, 2015, while in the care of Community Hospice House.

A daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Thompson) Chipukaizer, Ardith was born January 3, 1930 in Bowerston, Ohio.

Ardith was a graduate of the former Scio High School and married James W. Causby on May 7, 1953.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, Ardith is survived by their children, Lee Ann Taylor of Dover, Carl Causby of Bowerston, Barb (Troy) Kirsch of Sherrodsville, and Jennifer (Brian) Ledsome of Gnadenhutten; and eight grandchildren, Brett (Andrea Sulhan) Taylor of Brunswick, Jamie Taylor of Dover, Sarah (fiancé, Brent Copeland) Causby of Bowerston, Mary (fiancé, Nick Daley) Causby of New Philadelphia, Carla (Matt) Taylor of Hurricane, WV, Travis (Amber Ruggeri) Horner of New Philadelphia, Stacy (Rick) Joseph of Belle Center, OH, and Ray Ledsome of Gnadenhutten.

Completing the family are nine great-grandchildren, Hunter, Haylee, Logan, Alveya, Charlee, Sydney, Kaitlynn, Aubree, and Austin. Also surviving is her life-long friend, Betty Brothers of Montrose, CO.

In addition to her parents, Ardith was preceded in death by a sister, Margery Custer.

In keeping with Ardith’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation will take place through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
