Anthony Richard Zigman, 83, formerly of Willard and Marietta, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover following a long period of declining health.
Son of the late Anton and Mary (Koci) Zigman, Tony was born August 28, 1937 at Cleveland, Ohio.
Tony graduated from Collinwood High School at Cleveland in 1955. He continued his education at Marietta College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1959. On October 3, 1959, he married the former Carol Ann Powell and the couple shared 60 years of marriage prior to her passing on June 26, 2020.
He was retired from Midwest Industries, a division of MTD Products, where he worked as a comptroller. Over the years, Tony held positions on various boards, including the boards of the former Willard Memorial Hospital, the United Fund and the Willard Golf Course. He also served as an advisor and president of Junior Achievement of Willard and was a member of the LAMBDA CHI ALPHA Fraternity.
He is survived by his children, Lorrie (Dr. Edwin) Hawk of New Philadelphia; Richard (Corinne) Zigman of Miamisburg and Anthony “Andy” Zigman of Powell; 4 grandchildren, Dr. Carrie (John) Carroll of New Philadelphia, Timothy Hawk of New Albany, Elizabeth Hawk of Painesville, and Kelly Zigman of Dayton; two step-grandchildren, Erica Jones of West Carrollton and Jared Jones of Dayton and six step-great-grandchildren.
In keeping with Tony’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
