Anthony J. “Anton” Angelo, SR., age 64, passed away in his New Philadelphia home on Saturday morning, March 16, 2002, after an extended illness. He was born in Dover “Tin Town” and was a resident of the Dover and New Philadelphia area most of his life. Anton was retired from Alsco-Anaconda of Gnadenhutten after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Patrick Angelo, his step-mother, Pauline Angelo, and his faithful cat, “Shadow”. Anton is survived by his wife, Terry L. (Yost) Angelo; two sons, Charles E. of Dover and Anthony J. “Jim” Angelo of Scio; two daughters, Kathy Kohr of Dover and Karen Pethel of Strasburg; four sisters, Mary A. Angelo of Parma, Josephine Rios of Parma, Marge Angelo and Elizabeth Sproat of Dover; eight grandchildren and six step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his best friend, Rick Poland. A celebration of Anton’s life will be Monday, March 18, 2002, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home. In accordance with his wishes, Anton’s body will be cremated and private burial will take place at Evergreen Burial Park.
