Anne B Aebersold

January 3, 1937 — June 7, 2008

Anne B. Aebersold, age 71, of New Philadelphia, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a brief illness.Born January 3, 1937 in Dover, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Allen G. and Lillian A. (Thompson) Bretzius.Anne graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1954 where she participated in the band as a trombone player. In recent years, she looked forward to monthly luncheons with her former classmates at the Pro’s Table where they caught up with one another. She also was educated at Ohio Wesleyan University. After agreeing to a blind date as a young lady, Anne later married her date, F. Norman Aebersold, whom she wed at the First United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia on November 25, 1961. They spent much of their lifetime together in Pasadena, California where they raised their three children. Anne was very active in the East Pasadena Little League association for nearly 20 years. However, Anne’s heart always remained in Ohio and in 1994 they returned to New Philadelphia where she truly felt at home. Anne and Norm rekindled their church family relationships shortly after returning home and became active members of the First United Methodist Church, the church that had been such an instrumental part of her childhood. She and Norm also enjoyed their time at the Tuscarawas County Y.M.C.A. where they both were members of a water aerobics class.Anne will be sadly missed by her dear husband and her three children: David (wife, Christal) Aebersold of Moorpark, California, Brett (Corinne) Aebersold of Ashland, Ohio, and Jenny Aebersold of New Philadelphia. Her three grandchildren Brandyn Aebersold, and Kaitlyn and Brenden Aebersold complete the family.Private family burial of Anne’s cremated remains will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery at Dover. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service celebrating Anne’s life on Wednesday, June 11 at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church. Anne’s church family will prepare and serve a meal in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.Memorial contributions in memory of Anne may be directed to the First United Methodist Church, Attn: Building Fund, 201 W High Ave., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
