Annabelle Lane

April 16, 1923 — February 16, 2012

Annabelle Lane, age 88, of New Philadelphia, passed away early Thursday morning, February 16, 2012 in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia.

Born April 16, 1923 in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William Iden and Emma (Gatchet) Edie.

On June 26, 1948, Annabelle married her lifelong companion, the late Floyd Elmer Lane, who preceded her in death on May 1, 2011.

Annabelle was employed by Dr. Phillip Doughten as a bookkeeper and secretary for a number of years. She was also an active life member of the Broadway United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia.

Annabelle is survived by her children including, Douglas, Gary and David Lane, all of New Philadelphia; and her sister-in-law, Margaret J. Edie of New Philadelphia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Josephine Eiler, Clara Ross, and Rosella White; and her brothers, Thomas, Charles and Reymond Edie.

Visitation will be held (TODAY) Friday, February 17, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Annabelle’s life will be led by Dale Fincher on Saturday in the funeral home’s chapel beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.

Friends are invited to Broadway United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia where Annabelle’s church family will host a reception.

Those unable to attend may light a memorial candle and send the family personal condolences by visiting the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.

Memorial contributions in Annabelle’s memory may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
