Anna Ward

Anna Ward, 98, of Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013.

Born in Tschepbach, Switzerland on August 25, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Johannes and Elise (Ruetti) Schupbach.

Although she spent as many happy years living in England and the United States, her heart belonged to her beloved Switzerland.

She worked as a cashier at Halle Brothers Department Store in Cleveland for many years.

She was a talented seamstress and knitter and especially enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers. Feeding the many birds that visited her garden was one of her great pleasures.

Anna will be missed by her family including her daughter, Anne (Tom) Stepic of Scio; her grandchildren, Matt Stepic of Broadview Heights, Lisa (Bernard) Kainec of Hinckley and Mike (Karen) Stepic of Uniontown; and seven great- grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Kitto and Orcutt Ward; seven brothers and one sister.

In keeping with Anna’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Sunday, July 21, 2013 beginning at 3 p.m. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service.

Anna’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the past and present caregivers at Country Club Retirement Campus for their loving care and support during her five year residency and to Great Lakes Hospice during her last days.
