Anna V. Novak

Anna V. Novak, age 81 of Dover, died peacefully Monday, July 28, 2008, in her home.A daughter of the late Harold and Ella (Tanner) English, Anna was born on January 13, 1927, at Gloucester, Ohio.On November 23, 1946, Anna married William R. Novak and together the couple raised three children.Anna spent most of her life as a homemaker and enjoyed spoiling her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with her cooking and baking.In her spare time Anna loved to play bingo and cards as well as cheer on her favorite sports teams, The Cleveland Indians and The Cleveland Browns.Many may not know, however, that Anna loved the outdoors. She spent many summers with her family at the lake boating, fishing, and camping.In addition to her husband of more than 60 years, William Novak, Sr., Anna is survived by a daughter, Linda (William) Trimmer of Dover; two sons, William R. (Linda) Novak, Jr. of Frisco, Texas and James Novak of Louisville, Ohio; two sisters, Grace Duncan of McConnelsville, Ohio, and Norma Jean Mazanec of Ravenna, Ohio; and two brothers, Charles (Barb) English of Akron and William English of Ravenna. Two granddaughters, Jodi (David) Bowser and Rebecca (Andrew) Congdon; a grandson, Christopher (Melissa) Trimmer; and six great-grandchildren, David, Katie and Adam Bowser and Andrew, Dylan, and Benjamin Congdon complete the family.In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, from 5:00 PM â?? 7:00PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service celebrating Anna’s life will be held in the Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 428 W. Main Street, Kent, Ohio on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at 2:00PM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Standing Rock Cemetery at Kent.Those unable to attend are invited to share condolences with the family by visiting the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.
