Anna May Miller, age 71, of Uhrichsville and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009, in Union Hospital at Dover, following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late Charles C. and Lillian M. (Carpenter) Davis, Anna was born December 23, 1937, at Wainwright, Ohio.Anna was a 1955 graduate of Midvale High School and a longtime inspector at the Timken Roller Bearing Company at New Philadelphia.She married Harold E. Miller, on August 3, 1963, and together, the couple reared two children. Harold preceded Anna in death on December 12, 2001, following more than 35 years of marriage.For the past several years, Anna was a member of Roxford United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sharing stories and telling jokes with her friends and playing bingo and cards. When away from the company of others, Anna also took pleasure in working on embroidery projects. Additionally, she had a strong liking for those of the canine breed, and while she was unable to keep a dog herself, she always enjoyed the company of her sister’s dachshund when she would visit.Anna is survived by a son, William (Trudy) Miller of Virginia; a daughter, Jean Ann (Chris) Trina of Wisconsin; three sisters, Mary (Larry) Everett, Betty Davis, and Nellie (Dean) Turney all of New Philadelphia; and a brother, Charles (Linda) Davis of Strasburg.Four granddaughters, Katie and Courtney Miller, Carrie and Kelsey Trina; two grandsons, Michael, and Thomas Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.Anna was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, a brother, William, and a brother-in-law, Roy Medley.The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 1, 2009, from 2:00 PM â?? 4:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and again one hour prior to the service. Pastor Bob Mathias will lead a celebration of Anna’s life on Monday, March 2, 2009, at 10:30 AM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Following the committal, the family would like to invite guests to join them in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home, where a meal will be shared.In sincere gratitude, the family wishes to extend a thank you to the Union Hospital staff and doctors as well as to the staff of Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
