Anna Mae Sablar, age 87, of New Philadelphia, died early Monday, October 04, 2010, in New Dawn Retirement Center at Dover, Ohio following a brief illness.A daughter of the late Eugene and Cora Kinsey Kaderly, Ann was born at Dover on September 19, 1923.She was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and met Tony Sablar while they were both employed at the former Hanna’s Dry Cleaning. They married on August 3, 1946 and together had four children. They shared fifty-two years of marriage prior to Tony’s passing on September 16, 1998.As a young couple, Ann and Tony enjoyed flying in their open cockpit, Ryan PT airplane and over the years enjoyed an annual trip to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to attend the Experimental Aircraft Association meeting.For more than thirty years, Ann was employed by Miller Studio Company at New Philadelphia. When not working, she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and was a member of The First United Church of Christ at New Philadelphia.She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially the special times spent with grandchildren.Ann leaves behind a daughter, Sherilyn (Larry) Stiffler of New Philadelphia; a son, Anthony (Barbara) Sablar of Canton; a daughter-in-law, Linda Sablar (Marion) Hunt of Arizona; a sister, Helen Kuhns of New Philadelphia and a brother-in-law, Howard Dean of Pennsylvania.Six grandchildren, Tony (Vanessa) Sablar, Jill (James) Tetterton, Julie Sablar, Amanda (Mike) Reeves, Mike (Jillean) Ashley and Steve (fiancée, Lori Sloan) Ashley; five great-grandchildren, Colin Reeves, Cole Tetterton, Tai Sablar, Steven Ashley and Emily Ashley as well as numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald D. Sablar and an infant son; a sister, Jeanette Moore; a brother, Perry Kaderly; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anna and Michael Sablar; a brother-in-law, Dean Kuhns, and a sister-in-law, Olga Dean.The family will receive friends on Friday, October 8, 2010 from 4-7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Doctor Mary L. Burkhart will lead a service celebrating Ann’s life on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 10 AM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial alongside her husband will follow in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Those unable to attend may send the family personal condolences by signing the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.The family requests that memorial contributions in Ann’s name be directed to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Central Ohio Chapter, 2225 Citygate Drive, Suite E, Columbus, Ohio 43219 or to the Cats ‘n’ Us Shelter, 829 Union Avenue, Dover, Ohio 44621 from where she adopted her “Ole Faithful” friend, Amber the cat, 12 years ago.
