Anna Mae Morgan, age 88, of New Dawn Retirement Center at Dover was reunited with her husband on Thursday, April 18, 2013 following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Thomas and Jane (Esplin) Greig, Anna Mae was born at Cleveland, Ohio on December 21, 1924.
A 1941 graduate of Wickliffe High School, Anna Mae went on to work for Cleveland Crane & Engineering Company where she served the company as a secretary.
Anna Mae married Robert B. Morgan on September 21, 1946 and together the couple raised three children and celebrated 61 years of marriage prior to his passing on May 24, 2008.
An ever active individual, Anna Mae enjoyed Monday night bowling league at Boulevard Lanes, being a life member of the American Legion Post 7 Women’s Auxiliary at Wickliffe and playing cards with the ladies card club and being an avid reader.
Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, great-grandchildren, and her extended family at New Dawn in which her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor was always put to good use.
Survivors include her three children; Carol A. (Richard) Oboczky of New Philadelphia, Robert B. Morgan, Jr. of Brewster and Thomas A (Ellen) Morgan of Paris, France. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren, Dustin M. (Tracie) Morgan of Thompson, O., Melissa Huff of Westerville, Sandra (Jason) Stein and Douglas Oboczky, both of New Philadelphia; great-grandchildren, Ainsley Sefert and Alaina Mae Sefert, Raven and Reese Morgan, Alexis Nicole Huff, and Kaydence Oboczky.
Completing the family are a sister, Betty Lovgren of Mentor; a brother William (Lucielle) Greig of Wickliffe, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Anna Mae was preceded in death by a sister, Isabelle “Peggy” Johnson and a brother, Harry Greig.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 12:30-1:30 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Rev. Hugh B. Berry will lead a celebration of Anna Mae’s life on Saturday at 1:30 PM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial alongside her husband will follow in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
