Anna M. Spencer

Anna M. Spencer, 74, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, February 23, 2003 at Hennis Care Centre in Dover following an extended illness.

Born February 18, 1929 in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Rudo Toth and was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse.

She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia and also a member of several of the church’s women’s groups.

Surviving are her husband, Rev. Jim S. Spencer, whom she married December 28, 1948; three sons, Clarence W. (Bonnie) Spencer of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, Lloyd James (Kathie) Spencer of San Antonio, Texas and David W. (Betty) Spencer of Lavalette, West Virginia; a daughter, Paula A. Spencer of Canton; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 28, 2003 at 10 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with Rev. Jon McCleery, Rev. Warren Outhwaite and Rev. Joe Glassner officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 27, 2003 from 2 to 5 PM in the funeral home. Following the service and in keeping with her wishes, her body is to be cremated and a private family graveside service is to be held at a later date.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 357, Dover, OH 44622.
