Anna Belle Morgan, age 87, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Saturday evening, March 7, 2009, in Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover.Born on April 4, 1921, at New Philadelphia, Anna Belle was a daughter of the late Stanley and Leota (Hunter) Long. She was a 1939 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and on July 20, 1941, she married the love of her life, David “Jack” Morgan. Together, the couple reared two children.While Anna Belle’s primary passion was taking care of her family and ensuring their well being, for a period of time, she was employed by Marsh Wall Products and Daniels Dress Shop. Additionally, for more than 25 years, she assisted her husband in the operation of his business, Morgan Plumbing Company.A long-time member of the First Christian Church at New Philadelphia, Anna Belle found her self serving the Lord in many capacities throughout her 77 year tenure. She was a member of the Master Builders Class, held positions as Church Historian and Deaconess; she was a participant in Sisters Bible Study and for a period of time taught Sunday school. She leaves behind a family that includes a daughter, Jane (Steve) Arnold of New Philadelphia; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Rich) Marcaletti also of New Philadelphia; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Morgan, Glenna Mae Long both of New Philadelphia, and Betty Long of Texas.”Grandma Belle” was quite proud of the accomplishments achieved by her five grandchildren, Jon (Karen) Morgan, Matthew (Caryn) Morgan both of New Albany, Ohio, Michael Arnold, Pamela Arnold and Jennifer (Jason) Hanes all of Phoenix, Arizona; and her five great-grandchildren, Caroline Morgan, Lillian Morgan, Sophia Morgan, Claire Morgan and Jack Morgan. She leaves behind a legacy that taught strong Christian values and beliefs. Numerous nieces and nephews complete the family that Anna Belle cherished.In addition to her parents, Anna Belle was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away in 1978; a son, John Morgan, who passed away in 1996; and five brothers, Dale Long, Marion Long, Stanley Long, Jr., Carlton Long, and an infant brother, John Raymond Long.The family will receive guests in the First Christian Church at New Philadelphia from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Pastor Jim Borton will lead a celebration of Anna Belle’s life in the church sanctuary at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.Following the services, the family would like to invite guests to join them in the social hall of the First Christian Church at New Philadelphia where a meal and fellowship will be shared.Memorial contributions in Anna Belle’s memory may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund, 104 3rd St NW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
