Ann R. Garabrandt

Ann R. Garabrandt, age 94, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully in Union Hospital at Dover on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, following an apparent heart attack.Born November 3, 1916, at Canton Ohio, Ann was a daughter of the late Albert Fish and Blanche Poloschan. Ann wed her beloved husband, the late Thomas Henry Garabrandt on November 2, 1943, and shared 45 years of marriage before his death on December 7, 1988.She was an avid fan of afternoon soap operas and found great joy in caring for her dogs. In her younger years she enjoyed ensuring that her family was cared for and looked forward to preparing meals for them. Ann is survived by her children, Sue C. Garabrandt of New Philadelphia and Gary L. Garabrandt of Florida; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by her dogs, Murphy and Lexie.In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by an infant son, one brother, and two sisters.There will be no public visitation or services. Cremation will be cared for by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. Private inurnment alongside her husband in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia will take place.Memorial contributions in Ann’s name may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
