Ann M. Swinderman

Ann M. Swinderman, age 83, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully early Saturday evening, June 19, 2010, in the Hospice Suite of Union Hospital at Dover. Born at New Philadelphia, May 13, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John and Harriet K. Gatschet Schuepbach. A life resident of the area, Ann attended the Community of Christ Church at New Philadelphia, worked as a cashier in several area retail stores including Walmart and the former Shell Food Marts. Ann was a member of New Philadelphia chapter #222 of the Order of Eastern Star, AARP, the Public Employees Retirement System, and was a charter member of the ladies auxiliary of New Philadelphia post #1445 Veterans of Foreign Wars. She’ll be remembered for her love of cooking and baking.Survivors include her son, Jack E. Swinderman of New Philadelphia, and grandchildren. Matthew D. Swinderman of New Philadelphia, Katheryn (husband, Kevin) Thompson of Strasburg; a great-grandson, Steven M. Swinderman, of New Philadelphia and a great-granddaughter, Desiree Swinderman of Dover. She’ll be sadly missed by her close friends, Tyke (husband, Jerry) Bichsel, Louise Fantin and Gerry and Del Kimble.In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by two husbands, George W. Swinderman, who died in 1961, her second husband, Richard Glover, who passed away in 1965, a son, John V. Swinderman, who passed away in 1981, and a brother, Jack E. Schuepbach. Friends are invited to call Tuesday evening, June 22, 2010, from 5PM â?? 7PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, where Priest Dale Gowins will lead a funeral service at 7PM in the funeral home’s chapel. Following the funeral service, family and friends will gather for a dessert reception in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
