Ann I Baumberger

Ann I. Baumberger, age 97 of Park Village Health Care Center at Dover, and formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away early Friday morning, October 7, 2011.Born January 26, 1914, at Seminole, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Stefanie Paulazzi Regotter. While still a young lady Ann’s family made their way to Dennison, Ohio, where Ann attended high school and went to work while still a teenager in the Star Store a popular clothing store in town. Later in life, Ann was proud to have worked for nearly a decade at the former New Phila Rink’s Department Store. Ann will be best remembered as the co-founder of the former Baumberger Linoleum & Carpet Store, which she and her former husband, Charles, founded in 1952. She was a longtime resident of Uhrichsville, and the last surviving charter member of the Dennison Four Square Gospel Church. At the age of 91, Mrs. Baumberger retired as a foster grandparent from the Harcatus Head Start program following twenty-three years of rocking, tending to, and loving underprivileged children enrolled in the program.Survivors include her daughter, Cheryle (husband William) Stallings of Dover, and eleven grandchildren; Gaye McDonald, Brent, Barry and Kimberly Murtaugh, Lane II and Eric Baumberger, Amy Baumberger, Michelle Calhoun, William II and Quinn Stallings and Jade Dunn. Two sisters, Blanche Hurless of Sudersville, MD and Tosca Failoni of Pinellas Park, Florida also survive. Numerous great-grandchildren and even great-great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews complete the family. In addition to her parents, and former husband, Ann is preceded in death by two sons, Lane C. and Lee A. Baumberger; and her daughter, Judy G. Birch. Three sisters, Nellie Cookson, Deana Cargnel and Lyda Corradi, and four infant brothers are also deceased. Pastor Rod Phillips will lead a graveside committal service Monday afternoon at 2:30PM in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. There are no public calling hours.
