Angeline “Lena” Gervasi RichardsonA truly wonderful person has passed away, Angeline “Lena” Gervasi Richardson, 96, of New Philadelphia, on Monday, April 30, 2007, at her residence with her loving family by her side.A daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Mascotti Gervasi, Lena was born on March 30, 1911, in Stone Creek, Ohio. As a child, the family moved to Goshen, Ohio, where she resided until 1964. In 1964, Lena and her family moved to New Philadelphia, where she resided until her death. She had been employed by the former Belmont Stamp and Enameling Co., and later, by the Joy Manufacturing Co., both of New Philadelphia. Lena was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was a quiet person who spoke the loudest by the many unselfish acts of kindness that she did for others.She was the widow of the late Dorson E. Richardson, whom she wed on June 19, 1943. Her beloved husband preceded her in death on September 26, 1968. In addition to her husband, Lena was preceded in death by brother, John Gervasi, Sr.; four sisters, Mary Gervasi Swaldo, Emma Gervasi Columbo, Clara Gervasi Migoni, and Josephine Gervasi Kohler; three nieces, Eileen Swaldo Machan, Charlene Swaldo Weaver, Karen Gervasi, and Cynthia Kohler Williams; two nephews Franklin Swaldo and Warren Eugene Swaldo.A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Lena will be sadly missed. Lena is survived by daughter, Susan K. Richardson Russell, of New Philadelphia, granddaughter, Maryann S. Russell, of San Diego, California; sister, Irene Francis of Ann Arbor, Michigan; brother, Joseph (Dorothy) Gervasi, of Vista, California; nieces and nephews, Nancy (Richard) Fondriest, Joan (Proctor) Weir, Mary K. Francis, Sandra (James) McConnell, John Gervasi, Jr., Pamela Skarpolous, Emma Jean (Ralph) King, William (Wilma) Swaldo, R. Dean (Donna) Swaldo, Theodore (Linda) Swaldo, Jack (Cheryl) Fickes, and Gary (Patty) Swaldo. She is also survived by numerous great nices and great nephews.Friends are invited to call Thursday, May 3, 2007, 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m.Msgr. George J. Schlegel will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Following the committal service, a reception will be given for family and friends in the St. Ambrose Hall.
