Amanda Marie "Mandy" Carlisle, 66, of New Philadelphia, passed away on May 29, 2024, at Lifecare Hospice - Truman House in New Philadelphia. Mandy was a beloved soul who touched the lives of many with her kind caring nature.
Born on December 8, 1957, in Dennison, Ohio, Mandy was the daughter of the late Theodore "Ted" Carlisle, Sr. and is survived by her mother, Patsy Y. (Schwendiman) Carlisle of New Philadelphia. Throughout her life, she epitomized love and selflessness, serving as a devoted caregiver to her mother and nurturing those around her with unwavering support.
Mandy dedicated over 30 years of her life to United Parcel Service where she worked as a sorter at New Philadelphia. Her commitment and work ethic were truly commendable, reflecting her reliable and responsible nature in all aspects of life. Beyond her professional endeavors, Mandy attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School in Dennison, graduating from Indian Valley North High School in 1976, and enriching her knowledge at Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus.
Mandy was a longtime member of the Word of Faith Christian Center at Dover where she had also served as a Sunday School Teacher. She touched many lives of numerous children over the years and will always be loved and remembered by them, as "Miss Mandy".
One of Mandy's proudest accomplishments was her involvement in the local community. She volunteered regularly at the food pantry, embodying the spirit of giving back and making a positive difference in the lives of others. Additionally, Mandy showcased her talent on the sports field, excelling as a gifted athlete. She held the high school record for the 440-yard dash and participated in various sports such as Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, and Track & Field. Her passion for sports extended later on to coaching girl's high school basketball at Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School.
In her moments of leisure, Mandy found solace in crocheting. Her hands worked magic as she lovingly crafted baby blankets for each niece, nephew, great-niece, and great-nephew. Through these blankets, she enveloped her family with warmth and care that will forever be cherished.
In addition to her mother, Mandy is survived by her seven siblings, Pamela Carlisle, Theodore "Tony" Carlisle, Jr., Theresa Murray, Tim (Bobbette) Carlisle, Dave (Traci) Carlisle, Connie (Marty) Edwards and Ed (Shellie) Carlisle and her numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
