Alvin Eugene Brown, 47, of Dover, passed away peacefully Monday, October 13, 2014 in Hennis Care Center of Dover following a year-long battle with cancer.
Born in Dennison, on July 6, 1967, he was the son of Janet Louise (Frase) Stout and the late Marvin William Brown.
After graduating from Indian Valley High School in 1986, Alvin continued working on area farms for a number of years. Most recently, he worked for Blasenhauer Plumbing.
He had a love for dancing including West Coast Swing, Line Dancing, and Square Dancing. Alvin began dancing in Bolivar at Kicking Country. He was proud of the award he won for West Coast Swing dancing. Alvin also loved to ride his Harley motorcycle.
In addition to his mom, he will be deeply missed by his siblings, Calvin Brown of Lampasas, Texas, Melissa Quillia of Ravenna, Keith (Sandy) Brown of Port Washington, and Heather (Nick) McKenzie of Sumter, SC; his nieces and nephews, Josh Brown, Cody and Clayton Quillia, Zachriah, Rachel, and Joseph Brown, Brianna Stout, Karissa and Robin Courtwright, and Dakota McKenzie. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends complete the family.
Memorial visitation will be held in Broadway United Methodist Church on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. A memorial service will be held in the church beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Luke Holt officiating. A meal hosted by the church will immediately follow the service.
