Alta E. Neiger

Alta E. Neiger, 75, New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.Born December 10, 1928, in Dover, OH, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Celeste Schum Page.A homemaker devoted to her family and her church, Alta was married to Paul Neiger, Sr. for 42 years prior to his death in l990. When their children were grown, she assisted him in the operation of their family business, Industrial Finishers, in Dover. Following his death, she continued to operate the business until she became ill in November, 2003.She was a member of the Jerusalem Church in New Philadelphia and enjoyed gardening, traveling, and sharing in the lives of her children and grandchildren.She will be missed by her daughters, Susan E. (Jim) Parris of Wooster and Connie D. (Chuck) Wahl of Dover; son Paul J. Neiger, Jr. of New Philadelphia; grandchildren Timothy (Hillary) Parris, Jeffrey Parris and his fiancée Brenda Scott, Jennifer Parris, Joshua Wahl, who is currently serving in Iraq with the U.S. Navy, Jason Wahl, Elizabeth Wahl, Maggie Neiger, and Katie Neiger; sister Ethel Rees of New Philadelphia; and brother, Jim (Marilyn) Page of Goshen.Visitation will be at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday evening, September 3, 2004, from 6 Â? 8 pm. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel by the Rev. Dr. Terry Downin on Saturday, September 4, at 2:00 pm, with burial at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions to honor Alta’s life may be made to Jerusalem Church, Memorial Fund, 1417 Stonecreek Road SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
