Almeda M. Bailey Harmon

Almeda M. (Bailey) Harmon, 78, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, in New Dawn Retirement Community at Dover.A daughter of the late Frank “Mike” and Nancy (Dennis) Bailey, Almeda was born June 13, 1928 at Jewett, Ohio.She was a 1946 graduate of Jewett High School. Two years later she married Chester Harmon on July 17, 1948.Almeda retired from Miller Studio at New Philadelphia in 1990. She was a member of First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia as well as the Tuscarawas County Democratic Party and the Democrat Women.She is survived by her husband, Chester L. Harmon, with whom she would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this summer; one daughter, Marsha K. Harmon of New Philadelphia; one son, James A. Harmon of Columbus, Ohio and two sisters, Nedra Bailey and Shirley B. Tullis of Jewett, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.In keeping with Almeda’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and a private family graveside service will be held in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia with Elder Glenn Carlisle officiating.
