Alma Amelia Andreatta Mohn, 85, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday morning, December 31, 2005 at Amherst Meadows Nursing Home in Massillon.Born February 10, 1920 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Alexander Andreatta.Alma graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1937. After high school, she married John Watkins Mohn, Sr., and together raised two children, Joanne and John. She was an exceptional mother and wife who enjoyed taking care of the home and cooking. Alma also had a green thumb in the garden.As a member of Sacred Heart Church, she participated in the Senior Citizens group and the Alter Society. She was also a member for more than 25 years and an office holder, including Senior Regent, of the former New Philadelphia Moose Lodge #926.She left a token of her talents and love with each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren making them a handmade quilt. Quilting and crocheting were just a few of her many talents.Alma will be sadly missed by her family which includes her children, Joanne (Jay) E. Warfield of Massillon, and John W. (Sandy) Mohn, Jr. of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Tina Mohn, John W. Mohn III, Brian Warfield, and Christopher Warfield; great-grandchildren, John W. Mohn IV and McKayla Mohn; her sister, Josephine Cahaney; a brother-in-law, Clell Mohn; and a sister-in-law, Josephine Andreatta.In addition to her parents and husband, Alma was preceded in death by her brothers Floyd, Lewis and Servrino and her sisters, Clara Swinderman and Lena Boggiani.Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, 2006 from 5 to 8 p.m. with Christian Wake Service commencing at 7:45 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral Mass will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia, with Msgr. George Schlegel officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dennison following the mass. Family and friends are invited to St. Ambrose Hall following burial where a meal will be prepared by the church.Memorial contributions commemorating Alma’s life may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 139 3rd NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
