Alice F. McConnell

Alice Faye McConnell 78, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, and to be reunited with her beloved husband, Jerry, and precious daughter, Jodi, early Thursday morning, November 10, 2023 at Aultman Hospital.

A daughter of the late Jesse Cox and Opal Mae (Gwinn) Cox, Alice was born on October 29, 1945 in Belburn, West Virginia

Alice attended Uhrichsville High School. After high school, she married her late husband, Jerry, and together, they were members at Calvary Baptist Church in New Philadelphia. Alice loved to cook, bake and sew. Additionally, she was also a member of the Groovy Grannies Red Hats.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Ned Johnson of Sugarcreek; her granddaughter, Eileizia Stemple of Uhrichsville; her twin brother, Dallas (Mavis) Cox; sisters, Mary Pettit and her daughter, Linda Henson Deardorff, and Marie (Nelson) Philippi; her great-grandson, Oliver “Ollie”; her bonus son, Chris Patterson; her companion, Al Petrie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, whom she married on August 20, 1962; her daughter, Jodi Devore; and brothers, Ernest, Homer, Emery, Carl, Alva, Clifford, Bob and David Cox.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m. in Calvary Baptist Church at New Philadelphia. Pastor Don Snow will lead a service celebrating Alice beginning at 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Garden at Dover.
