Alice Katherine Mathias

Alice K. Mathias, 63, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2007 in Hennis Healthcare Centre at Dover.A daughter of the late Harry and Harriet (Schaefer) Case, Alice was born October 8, 1943 at Dover, Ohio.Alice enjoyed watching television, especially soap operas and western movies. She also was an avid Bingo player.She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Otis D. Mathias, Sr; sons, Otis (Brenda) Mathias, Jr, Edwin (Shannon) Mathias both of New Philadelphia and Eric (Dawn) Mathias of Canton; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Jane Maxwell of Uhrichsville; two brothers, James (Linda) Case of Richmond Dale, Ohio and Donald (Grace) Case of Windsor, California and one sister-in-law, Thelma Case of New Philadelphia.Alice is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Myers and Anna Mae Schupp and four brothers, John, Robert, George and Paul Case.In keeping with Alice’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a private graveside service will be held at a later date in Ridgecrest Memorial Gardens at Dover.The family suggests that contributions be made in Alice’s memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6155 Rockside Road, Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131.
