Alfred J. Peterson

Alfred J. Peterson, 89, Niceville, FL, died September 24, 2004 at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville.A son of the late Alfred and Jane Mould Peterson, he was born on January 27, 1915, in DuBois, PA.Serving our country for 23 years, Alfred entered the U.S. Army in l942, and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.He was honorably discharged in l965.He was married to the former Mary M. Schwartz, who died in l983.Alfred was an active member of the Twin Cities Senior Citizens Club in Florida, a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia, the New Philadelphia American Legion, and the Dover V.F.W.He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Wilma Peterson of Valparaiso, FL; daughter-in-law, Agnes Peterson, of Kent, OH; and two granddaughters, Wendy (John) Bradford and Debbie (Joe) Sutherland, both of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his son, Dale Peterson.Alfred will be laid to rest beside his wife at Evergreen Burial Park where graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Jeff Gerber on Friday, October 1, 2004, at 10:00 am.
