Albert Ney Quivey, 87, of Dover, died Friday, January 3, 2025, in Hennis Care Centre, peacefully following a period of declining health.
Born in Columbia Township on April 28, 1937, he was the son of the late William Ellis Quivey and Martha (Carpenter) Mays.
After graduating from Albany High School, Albert worked for Ravens Trailer Sales for more than 30 years in their maintenance, sales, and welding departments.
He was in numerous organizations including the Tuscarawas County Coin Club, Dedham Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Horse Thievery, and the YMCA.
Albert enjoyed numerous adventures traveling the continent as full-time RVer in retirement. He was a member of the FCRV Family Campers and RVers, where he also served as state and national conservation director. He was also a member of Escapees, Swiss Wheelers of Sugarcreek, Ohio, Buckeye Bacon Burners, and Texas FCRV Winter Texans. Additionally, he was a member of First Lutheran Church of Strasburg.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gail M. Quivey of Bolivar; step-son, Robert B. Roberts-Antone of Albuquerque, NM; step-daughter, Dawn (Justin) Mills of London, Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Nora Roberts-Antone, Dante Guillermo Lima and Lorenzo Miguel Lima; brothers-in-law, Sharon P. Mizer, Dennis R. Mizer, Sr., Larry J. (Kathy) Mizer, and Dean A. Mizer; cousins, Monte (Debra) Quivery, and Carol Adams; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends, The Daughertys, The Johnstons, The Turners, The Kutzs, The Prices, The Owens, Lois Wilmot, BFF Joyce, The Pattons, The Fellers, Patty Schaar, and many others.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnne A. Quivey; and cousins, Tom Parker, and Robert (Lynn) Parker.
The family will greet guests on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center, 5600 N. Wooster Ave. Dover. A funeral service will be led by Pastor Jim Borton at 6:00 PM. An inurnment will be held at a later date in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg. Those unable to attend the funeral service in person, may livestream the service on the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Facebook page.
