ALAN WAYNE CHANDLER, 23, of Port Washington, died Sunday, September 29, 2002 at Coshocton Memorial Hospital resulting from a motorcycle accident in July, 2000. He was born November 8, 1978 in Colorado Springs, CO to Marvin and Diana Sanders Chandler. Alan attended Sacred Heart School and Central Catholic High School. In 1997 he graduated from Indian Valley High School. He was a student of landscaping at Buckeye Career Center and worked in construction for Northeast Structural Systems. Alan enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, cross-country events and bowling. Additionally, he liked playing cards. He especially enjoyed decorating his family’s home for Christmas. He’s survived by parents, Marvin & Diana Chandler and brother, Curtis, all of Port Washington; maternal grandmother, Patricia Sanders of Tuscarawas; paternal grandmother, Hester Chandler of Gnadenhutten; aunts, Carol (Kirk) Kreinbihl of Gnadenhutten and Roberta (Randy) Clark of Florida; uncles, Charles Sanders of Tuscarawas, Richard (Mindy) Sanders of Gnadenhutten, Ronald (Marsha) Chandler of Dover and Carl (Roxanne) Chandler of New Jersey; nieces, nephews and special friend, Stacey Parsons; his cats, “Bud” and “Coco” and his dog, “Otis”. Alan was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Sanders and John Chandler. Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 2, 2002 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. The funeral will be Thursday, October 3, 2002 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Monte Canfield and Fr. Ed Keck officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery at Port Washington. After the committal a reception will be held in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Port Washington. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Tuscarawas County, P. O.
