Alan Lee Henline, Sr., age 63, of Mineral City, died early Tuesday, September 14, 2021, while in the care of Community Hospice’s Truman House following a two-year battle with cancer.
Born in Canton, Ohio on January 14, 1958, Alan was a son of the late Frank and Bertha Abel Henline. He attended Tusky Valley Schools and was employed by Arizona Chemical for 25 years until his health would no longer allow him to work. Alan was also the owner-operator of Henline’s Nuisance Trapping.
In his free time, Alan enjoyed any activity that involved being with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed, hunting and fishing and taught many in his family these skills. He was also a long-time Volunteer Firefighter with Mineral City and later Fairfield Township Fire Departments.
Alan is survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Catherine Collinsworth whom he married on August 13, 1978, their children, Amy (Webb) McNutt of New Philadelphia, Alan (Tiffany) Henline, II of Wooster, Adam (Brandy) Henline of New Philadelphia, Ashley (Juan) Mendoza) of Canton and Tiara Henline of the home; nine grandchildren, one great-grandson; a sister, Joan (Jeff) Render of East Sparta; a brother, Rodney (Jaymie) Henline of Newcomerstown; a sister-in-law, Cindy Hamilton of Mineral City, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by a brother, William Hamilton.
The family will greet guests on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Pastor Andy McClung and his son, Adam Henline will jointly lead a service celebrating Alan’s life on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
