Agnes Vergene Walker, age 81, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, May 2, 2010 at her residence following a lengthy illness.Born in Sharpsburg, Ohio on January 25, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harlan Otis and Ellen Drinda (McNutt) Duncan.After completing her schooling, Agnes began her working career. She retired after 25 years of service to Timken Roller Bearing Co. as a packer.Agnes was a long time member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Philadelphia. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family which includes her children, Jim (Pam) Walker of Uhrichsville, Kevan (Grace) Walker of Dover, Barry (Vicki) Walker of LaPorte, Indiana, Cindy Walker of New Philadelphia, and Jody (Mark) Adkins of Sugarcreek; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, one brother, and five sisters.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Agnes’ life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Ed Leanza officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Friends are invited to the First Church of the Nazarene where Agnes’ church family will host a reception.
