Adrian M. Stull, age 85, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Thursday morning, May 27, 2010 at New Dawn Health Care Center following a period of declining health.Born October 4, 1924 in Mineral City, he was the son of the late Telfird Emmet and Barbara Fay (Jones) Stull.On January 26, 1947, Adrian married his partner for life, the late Lucy Alberta (Moore) Stull who preceded him in death on December 30, 2006.After completing his formal education, Adrian joined the United States Army having served his country in the European Theatre. Upon his return home, Adian joined the professional workplace, retiring as the Service Manager for Truck Sales & Service having worked there more than 40 years.When not at work, Adrian enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was also a member of the Holmes United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #205 at Dover.He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Linda (Greg) Zesiger of New Philadelphia; his sons, Adrian Eugene Stull, of Northfield, Michigan and John William (Carole) Stull of Cairo, Egypt; his sister, Dorothy Fay Berkheimer of Sandy Township; and his loving grandchildren, Nichole (Chad) Merkel, Christopher John Stull, Matthew Adrian Stull, Robert Edward Stull, and Jacob William Stull. He was also eagerly anticipating the birth of his first great-grandbaby Merkel.Adrian was able to maintain his independence the past few years because he received excellent care and a lot of love from Clara Miller, Emma Yoder, Mary Menges, Edna Yoder, Connie Tice, and Ruth Ann Erb.In addition to Adrian’s parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Emmett, Charles, Kalman, and Glenn and his sister, Lucille MilesVisitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Monday, May 31, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Adrian’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, June 1st beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Rodger Warnes officiating. Burial will take place following the service in Holmes Church Cemetery where the Dover V.F.W. will render military honors. Friends and family are invited back to the Geib Family Center where a meal will be shared and food provided by Buehlers and his church family.Adrian’s family requests memorial contributions may be made in Adrian’s memory to Holmes United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 267, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
