Addison Arthur Van Campen age 77, of Stonecreek, Ohio, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Feb 20, 2007, in Fajardo, Pureto Rico. Born at Detroit, Michigan, July 3, 1929, John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Pauline Osgood VanCampen, is survived by his loving wife Rosetta Marie Wherley Van Campen. Addison’s family also includes his children; Susan Fair of Columbus, Ohio, Barbara (Jeff) Bisker of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Lisa (Mike) Orr of Columbus, Ohio, Julia (Jim) Schmitz of Cleveland, Ohio Rachael (Orlando) Lugo of Luquillo, Puerto Rico, and Paul Gallagher of Jacksonville, Florida. Eight grandchildren complete the family. Addison graduated from Ferris State University at Big Rapids, Michigan. He retired as a trust officer from US Bank Corporation following more than 35 years of service. Active in community and civic affairs, Addison served for many years on the board of directors of numerous groups including the Joy Outdoor Education Center of Cincinnati, Camp Firegirls, Seven Hills Neighborhood House, and as treasurer of St. Michaels Episcopal Church at downtown Cincinnati. Mr. Van Campen was the former village auditor at Stonecreek, and was a member of the board of directors of the Tuscarawas County Community Improvement Corporation. Addison’s life will be celebrated Saturday afternoon at 2PM in the Sanctuary of Grace United Church of Christ with Pastor Kirk Bruce officiating. Following the ceremony, family and friends will gather for a reception in the church fellowship hall.Cremation has taken place, and inurnment will follow in Stonecreek Cemetery at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Joy Outdoor Education Center PO BOX 177 Clarksville, OH 45113 or to the Grace United Church of Christ, 229 West Jefferson Street Stonecreek, OH 43830, or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Local arrangements are through the care and direction of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
